This collection houses memorabilia items from South Georgia State Normal College, Georgia State Womans College, the early days of Valdosta State College, and Valdosta State University It contains sheet music from SGSNC and GSWC as well as awards given to GSWC. It also has items labeled Valdosta State College such as pencils, stickers, buttons, and postcards.Contains VSU decorative ribbon from 2021.

Eugene Beck Collection

Scope and Contents This is a collection of letters and certificates pertaining to the career of Eugene H. Beck. He served as a trustee for 6 years for the South Georgia State Normal College, and served as a faculty member at North Georgia College. Beck also taught in schools across the state and was County Superintendent of Schools in Lowndes County from 1924-1938. This collection contains his certificates and letters of commendation. F. Ruth Carpenter

Scope and Contents

Frances Ruth Carpenter was the first art teacher at South Georgia State Normal College, and she taught at the school until her retirement in 1949. She represented the start of what would later develop into the Fine Arts Department. These are three paintings done by her.

The Katherine C. Swidinski Scrapbook Collection predominately features photographs from South Georgia State Normal College in Valdosta, Georgia, circa 1919-1920. The photographs were collected in two black scrapbooks created by Daisy Mae Culpepper, a 7th-grade student at the South Georgia State Normal College training school during the 1919-1920 school year.
