1957-1959 - Andrew Young pastorate at Evergreen Congregational Church

Andrew Young was a strategist and negotiator of the 1964 Civil Rights Act. He also served as mayor of Atlanta for two-terms from 1981-1989. Young was appointed as a U.S. Ambassador to the Untited Nations by President Jimmy Carter in 1977, the first African American to serve as a UN Ambassador.
