About
"Sun Bear (Gheezis Mokwa) was a sacred teacher of Ojibwe (Anishinabe) descent. Activist, lecturer, and best selling author, he was born Vince LaDuk on August 31, 1929 on the White Earth Indian Reservation in northern Minnesota. Some of his published works include: The Medicine Wheel: Earth Astrology and Many Smokes, a Native American monthly news magazine, which he founded in 1961. He founded the Bear Tribe Medicine Society, which offered Medicine Wheel sessions that included sweat lodges and vision quest fasts. He is the father of activist, author Winona La Duke"--Wikipedia
