Murtaugh has been involved with the Neopagan movement since 1968. He is a Drui and Elder of Tuatha De Danann, an Irish Mystery Tradition. He is the founder of TDD: The Ninth Wave, and Nemed na Morrigna. He is an Elder and High Priest of the New England Covens of Traditional Witchcraft (NECTW). He is the director of the Pagan History Project (PHP).
