Box 15: Thaxton Papers-Workload Reports 1949-1953, 1949-4953

 Box — Box: 15
Collection number: Box 15

Scope and Contents

This box consists almost entirely of faculty workload reports for Valdosta State College (now Valdosta State University) between the years 1949-1953. The workload reports were accompanied by letters to the Board of Regents. Included were references to Georgia State Woman’s College, which was the name of Valdosta State College until 1950. The workload reports also include the courses in Romance languages that Ralph Thaxton taught. A few of the professors that were also listed are Gertrude Gilmer Odum, Beatrice Nevins, and Honoria Sapelo Treanor. One fascinating item that is included was the 1949 winter quarter schedule of classes for West Hall that included times, what classes met in each room and the number of students in each class. A few progress reports were also a part of the folders, but 99% of Box 15 were the academic workload reports.
