Let’s Talk About It: Making Sense Of The American Civil War, 2012
Scope and Contents
A roundtable discussion held in the Valdosta State University Archives and Special Collections in 2012 for the sesquicentennial of the Civil War. A partnership on the campus of Valdosta State University between the Valdosta State University Archives and Special Collections of Odum Library and the Department of History will help raise awareness of the confluence of the Battle of Antietam, emancipation, and the war’s legacy. The sesquicentennial of the Civil War presents a unique opportunity to explore these issues. The state of Georgia is commemorating the Civil War sesquicentennial by placing historical markers throughout the state, including sites of slave unrest.
