Library General Files

 Collection — Multiple Containers
Collection number: UA-15-19-1

Scope and Contents

The Library at Valdosta State has gone through a number of changes over the years. This collection is a large one, that displays the ways that the school's library has grown. The Accession Records list the books that South Georgia State Normal College, and later Georgia State Woman's College added to their library from the years February 1913 to November 1958. The collection contains general files for the Library from 1969 onward, listing staff meeting minutes(1969-1994), memos, correspondence, rules and regulations. David L. Ince specifically donated copies of memos and correspondence he sent out 1979-1987. In 1997 Odum Library began planning for the new addition, and the collection houses most of the plans, correspondence, drafts, and papers involved. The same is true for the 2008-2009 interior renovations of the Library. Also included are the 1996-1998 Annual Library Statistics, and Annual Report for the Library for select years.
