Scope and Contents
This collection presents a comprehensive view of the history of the Valdosta State University Chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. The bulk of the papers are from 2003-2007, and contain a brief history of the NAACP, the materials used in founding the VSU Chapter including the Charter, and the by-laws and constitutions for the local,state, and national level of the NAACP. It also includes agendas and minutes for NAACP meetings, as well as correspondence,membership lists, event flyers, & committee papers. There are two seperate boxes for publications relating to the NAACP such as Crisis magazine.
