This collection contains information about the history of Lowndes County. It has Lowndes County Historical Society Newsletters, as well as maps, phone books, and guides. It also has information about points of interest such as local events, the Crescent, Valdosta Schools, and Sunset Cemetery. It has Statistical (1944), Economic (1950s & 1960s), and Sanitation (1967) Information. It also contains photographs, and news articles concerning the county.  An 1851 Alapaha Store manifest, very fragile, is in this collection, and it has been digitized on Vtext.  Other digital items include a Sanborn map of Valdosta from 1922, a history of Bacon and Alma counties, and John Hun: The Interesting Life of a North Carolina Native.
