This collection was found in a wall when a construction worker was tearing some down. He donated the materials to Valdosta State University's Archives. The collection contains African American Newspapers from the 1950s and 60s. Included in these papers are the Newark, NJ Telegram and The Pittsburg Courier: Georgia Edition and one copy of the Georgia-Florida Times. The majority of items come from the late 50s (1958). They document the civil rights era.  Because of the way they were stored and found, the newspapers are in very fragile condition.  They have been scanned and a DVD of the newspapers is in the box.
