Martha Owens Physical Education Collection
Scope and Contents
Martha Owens and Susan B. Rockett helped found the Every Child A Winner (E.C.A.W) program, under the Title III Project HOPE ( Health and Optimum Physical Education) during the late 60s early 70s. They made use of the National Diffusion Network to introduce their programs to schools across the nation. Their system was part of the largest federally funded grant program in physical education at the time period, and was representative of an integrated physical education system. The collection contains program materials and evaluations, grant applications, as well as newsletters and promotional items such as film and pictures. Individual school data from participants and applicants is also included.
