Scope and Contents From the Collection: This collection contains items pertaining to Valdosta State/Georgia State Womans College history. These items were donated by Alumni and their families. They include graduation programs, newspaper clippings, photographs, postcards, a bracelet, a cap, and a badge.

Kate Swiderski Donation

Scope and Contents 1934 graduation program and newspaper clipping were given under the gift of Virginia H. Culpepper by Ms. Swiderski. Folder also contains May Day photographs from 1934 and 1950-1951. She later donated an early photograph of Pound Hall when what is now North Campus was Emory Junior College which is also contained in the folder.

Scope and Contents Folder contains a Freshman cap, a cloth badge for the Valdosta State College Serenaders, and a copy of a photograph of the 1965 Serenaders. Also contains a copy of the Valdosta Daily Times article "Premier Performance Tops Program For VSC Concert" announcing Vaclav Nelhybel in concert at Valdosta State College, where his composition "Gloria Patri" (copy of sheet music included) was played for the first time.

Scope and Contents Contains issues of the Pine Needle publication, an underground newspaper at VSC from the 1960's started by Ed Lightsey and Tim Teasley. Volume I Issue II. Also holds three copies of the Pine Branch publication. Spring 1967, Spring 1966, and Spring 1965. Scott Cohen was the editor for the Spring 1967 edition.
