The City of Thomasville Series includes selected historical records and materials provided by the City of Thomasville or the Thomasville History Center for digital preservation and public access through the Community Archives. As the county seat of Thomas County, Thomasville is recognized for its rich history, historic downtown, and early tourism era. This series offers insight into the city’s past through documents preserved by local institutions. It presently includes a 1928 Sanborn fire insurance map, annotated with updates from 1938 and 1947.
