Scope and Contents

This document contains newspaper clippings of articles written by Dr. R. Marie Horne, MD, for the column "Doc's Special Messages", published in The Quitman Free Press. Former Principal of Leila Ellis and member of the Valdosta Board of Education, Maceo Horne, suffered a thrombotic stroke, which had the potential to leave him paralyzed. Dr. William Grow, Mr. Horne's Physician and fellow school board colleague, administered a procedure to dissolve the blood clot, resulting in Mr. Horne walking, talking and eating again in a matter of days.
