Contains records of Tenure Policy at Valdosta State dating from 1970-2006. Most of these relate to Library Faculty tenure and promotion and documents used in creating the policies. There are several surveys of librarian faculty included in these papers.

An alumnus of Valdosta State University, Eric Brooks served as the music copyist for the orchestral parts of the soundtrack recording of the 1993 movie The Dark Half, with Timothy Hutton. Created and originally donated by Eric Brooks (Valdosta State University Alumnus), via Dr. Kenneth Kirk.

The Valdosta Post was a locally owned daily newspaper that ran from October 1, 1988 - January 27, 1989. The Post ceased operation after the release of the January 27, 1989 issue, while talks were being held to discuss the potential sale of the newspaper.
Thomas Edward Watson--The Jeffersonian
Time Capsule
Pictures and copies of some items that went into the time capsule at Drexel Park in Valdosta to be opened in 2060. Many of these items relate to Moody Airforce base. The VSU Archivist oversaw the packing of the Time Capsule, and there is a copy of the Valdosta Daily Times for the date in 2010 that features the Archivist with items for the capsule on the cover. The capsule was buried under a marker bench in Drexel park in 2010.

This collection contains newspaper clippings and photographs of: First Lady Lady Bird Johnson, President Jimmy Carter. It has has a story about Valdosta State students meeting President Dwight D. Eisenhower, A Homecoming invitation to President John F. Kennedy (and a polite response declining), A letter signed by Harry S. Truman then Senator of Missouri, and a Memorial Newspaper on JFK.
University Honor's Program and Interdisciplinary Studies
This collection contains informational brochures and pamphlets for Valdosta State University's Honors Program. Included are VSU's Honors Program Newsletters The Honora (1994-1998,2002)and VSC Honors Program Newsletter (1990-1993). Also it houses Honors Program memos from 1985, and information about the Southern Regional Honors Council conference held at VSC in 1987.
