Abstract
The William W. Knight Civil War Letters Collection consists of correspondence authored by William Washington Knight during his service in the Civil War. The letters are addressed to his wife and father, and provide personal insights into his experiences on the battlefield. The collection includes copies of the original letters, dating from 1861 to 1863, and contains 36 handwritten letters.

The Lady Blazers Basketball Team was formed in 1974 (according to program information) , although intramural women’s basketball has been strong at VSC back to the 30’s during its days as GSWC. The first coach was Lyndal Worth. Charles Cooper, Jane Williamson, Yevette Sparks followed. The 1983-1984 team under Cooper won the Gulf South Conference, and reached the NCAA Division II Final Four.

Yvonne Slate- George Washington Woolwork

Scope and Contents
A damaged large framed Woolwork of the Gilbert Stuart portrait of George Washington was gifted to Valdosta State University and Special Collections. After several years, chemisty student Ann K Williams and Deborah Davis did conservation work on the Woolwork. The mold stains were removed and the portrait reframed. It is now hanging in the stairwell of Ashley Hall.
