Scope and Contents This is a collection of photographs.  Most seem from the Class of 1919, including a framed composite.  There are black and white (sepia) photographs of the early school in the 'teens, including photographs of students and teachers, as well as school dramatic productions.  Augusta Brown and Minnie Ruth Brown seem to be featured in some of the photographs.  The name Lane is not prominent in any of the  phototgraphs or documents.  An invitation to the 1919 graduation as well as clippings from...

Scope and Contents House in the Woods has taken several names and forms through the last century. Sometimes called the Log Cabin or Little House in the Pines, it was originally a tenement house near Georgia State Woman's College. The school acquired it and the students would meet there to take a break from school life. Eventually the original building burned down but the House was rebuilt by the WPA in 1939 and the girls resumed using it as as a meeting place for social gatherings and clubs. When the school...

Scope and Contents

This collection contains items from events that were held at Valdosta State University. There is a wide range of genres represented from the history of Valdosta State, to visiting artists and exhbits. Included are the materials of exhibits such as the House in the Woods, Valdosta State's 100 year anniversary, and the history of integration at Valdosta State. Valdosta also had Maya Angelou, Jancie Daugharty, and the We the People exhibit as well as hosting theater conferences.
