Scope and Contents The Bennet Collection houses the personal papers of the Bennet family. This collection, which dates from 1826 to approximately 1986, consists of letters, diary entries, photographs, memorabilia, genealogy notes, and an oration, providing insight into the lives of members of the Bennet family over several generations. VSC letter jacket donated by Frances Garbutt Maughon. Ms. Maughon (then Garbutt) was on VSC's first Cheerleading squad in the 1953/54 season. The squad cheered on VSC's first basketball team.

Also included is a folder containing yearbook photos of the Cheerleders and the Basketball team (Frances Garbutt is identified in the photos), and a letter written by Ms. Maughon at the age of 88 describing her time at VSC..
