This map is attributed to Willem Blaeu and was published by Blaeu and son Joan in Atlas Novus in 1635.  It was included by Joan Blaeu in a 1662 reissue of Atlas Novus called Atlas Maior published in 11 volumes in latin with 594 maps.  It was the largest and most expensive book to be published during the seventeenth century.  A complete original of the atlas is housed by the Austrian National Library with a digital version offered by the Regional Archives of Leiden.  A reproduction from this copy was published by Taschenin 2006 with notes by Dr. Peter van der Krogt, of Utrecht University, the leading expert in the field of Dutch cartography. The origin of this map was confirmed in Koeman’s Atlantes Neerlandia—The folio Atlases by Willem Janszoon Blaeu compiled by Dr. Peter van der Krogtof Utrecht University and published in 2000 by HES.
