The Pagan Society began as a student organization in 2009 at the University of Utah calling itself the Salt Lake Pagan Society and because of university requirements, University of Utah Pagan Society. Then called the Salt Lake City Pagan Society, the organization moved off campus and changed its name to the current form beginning in December 2018 and officially in 2019.
