Scope and Contents The Joyce Papers consist mainly of correspondence with colleagues and students.  It also includes  a few photographs, articles and copies of all of her books. Although some items date to Joyce's childhood in Valdosta, the bulk of the papers are from the early 1980's to 2001. Mark Martin Collection

Abstract

This collection was found in a wall when a construction worker was tearing some down. He donated the materials to Valdosta State University's Archives. The collection contains African American Newspapers from the 1950s and 60s. Included in these papers are the Newark, NJ Telegram and The Pittsburg Courier: Georgia Edition and one copy of the Georgia-Florida Times. The majority of items come from the late 50s (1958).
