Steel engraved lithograph from J.G. Heck book. Machine colored illustration of train terminal with mechanical drawings of various railroad equipment. Leaf from book. Plate 8 1/2" x 10 3/8" Engraver: Henry Winkles. Henry Winkles was an English engraver, printer, and illustrator. He collaborated with J.G. Heck on several monumental encyclopedic books in the mid nineteenth century. Winkles is credited with opening the first steel engraving studio in Germany.
