Michael M. Black, a native of Valdosta, Georgia, attended Valdosta State University where he earned a BBA in Finance, a Master's Degree in Higher Education Leadership, and a second Master's Degree in Instructional Technology. The items in his collection deal with the history of Valdosta State College. Specifically items concerning: Frank R. Reade, J. Ralph Thaxton, & Eleanor Roosevelt's 1941 speech to GSWC. He also donated copies of obituaries of Valdosta State Faculty and Staff 1935-2002.
