Women's Studies Oral History Project
Scope and Contents
The Women's Studies department was started circa 1992. This collection contains general files from the 1990s of the department including materials from the annual Women's Studies Conference hosted at Valdosta State. However, the majority of material deals with the Oral History Project. This Project was a series of interviews, conducted in the '90s of alumni and staff of Georgia State Woman's College, South Georgia State Normal College, and Valdosta State College. These individuals would recall what life was like at the school. There are a large number of tapes that make up this collection. These tapes have been digitized and are available in the archives. Some are on youtube. See the video database under Indexes on the Archives homepage to locate them.
