6/11- Discrimination on the basis of accent- Bill Maxwell; Article discusses discrimination experienced by individuals with southern accents.
6/18- Born in the South- Bill Maxwell; Maxwell discusses that despite being born in the south, he doesn't believe that African Americans should consider themselves as Southerners due to the fact that they were forced to live in the south and were not originally from there.
6/25- Mormon sworn in as member of Lowndes County Board of Elections- Staff Reports; Frank Morman Jr, the director of Valdosta's Project Change, was sworn in as a member of the Lowndes County Board of Elections
6/28- Klan protests black man’s death- Associated Press; Ku Klux Klan members rallied in Jasper Texas to condemn that slaying of a black man who was dragged to his death behind a pickup truck by three white men with ties to white supremacist groups. 50 black activists with weapons arrived to confront the hypocritical klan membeers.
