Scope and Contents

The David Williams Collection consists of over 100 interviews with members of the Valdosta community and surrounding areas that lived during the Great Depression. The interviews chronicle the major difficulties of life during this trying era. Topics include descriptions of the struggle for daily provisions for the family. The collection contains DVDs, VHS tapes, and audio cassettes. All the tapes in the collection have been digitized and are available on DVD for use.

Oral History Collection: "Dimensions of Personal Politics in the Deep South: Georgia Women Review their Lives, Public and Private," created by Catherine Oglesby, Valdosta State University. Recorded in 2011-2012. Includes audio, transcripts, and photographs.

Scope and Contents The Women's Studies department was started circa 1992. This collection contains general files from the 1990s of the department including materials from the annual Women's Studies Conference hosted at Valdosta State. However, the majority of material deals with the Oral History Project.
