Scope and Contents This collection contains papers from the Vice President of Academic Affairs from 1990-2000. They include announcements of new employees, helpful guides on acquiring grants, and files from the creation for the Center for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning. The  Center for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning wasaimed at building stronger communities through a commitment to educational excellence. Started in 1996 it did this by appointing fellows from the faculty of Valdosta State.

Adele and Richard Carmichael Collection

Abstract This collection originated from the estate of noted musician and artist Carol Celeste Carmichael Parks (1949-2010), granddaughter of Adele and Richard and daughter of Ralph and Evangeline “Vange” Otto Carmichael [later McPherson]. Although the bulk of this collection revolves around Richard Carmichael and to a lesser extent Adele, there are a few additional items related to Ralph Carmichael, Vangie McPherson and Rolf McPherson.

African Art: United States Fish and Wildlife Service

Collection number: MS-115
Abstract Songye tribal masks and power figures from Congo, Africa. Seized by United States Fish and Wildlife Service while being smuggled into Hartsfield International Airport. Some pieces incorporated materials harvested from endangered species, which were removed. United States Fish and Wildlife Service donated these materials to Valdosta State University Archives in 2011. Another intake of 6 items being smuggled from Cameroon were donated in 2015.

Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps

Scope and Contents This collection contains instructional booklets and informative newsletters from the 1970s and 1980s relating to Valdosta State College's Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps. The 1980s booklets are mostly standard handbooks distributed by the AFROTC, though Valdosta State published a few specific ones. The Newsletters High Flyer are from the 1970s and are specific to Valdosta State College and the AFROTC there.
