Charlie H. Skinner Primitive Baptist Foot Washing Bowl
This metal bowl was used for foot washing in the New Ramah Primivite Baptist Church in Berrien County. It was donated by Charlie Skinner, who was a member in his youth. The bowl is white with a red rim.

History of the Department: The Chemistry department and/or chemistry classes have been a part of the college since SGSNC. It is a part of the College of Arts and Sciences. Recent department heads include: Dr. Harry M. Duvall, 1970-1979; Dr. William B. Harrison, 1980-81; Dr. Robert Little, 1981-82, Dr. Maurice Lindauer, 1983-84, and Dr. Jesse Spencer, 1984 to the present.

Cold War Materials
During the Cold War fear of war prompted the US government to encourage its citizens to build fallout shelters to help protect them from the effects of possible nuclear attacks. These materials which originated from the Office of Civil Defense, were intended to be used in the event of an emergency that required evacuation to the fallout shelters. The materials were meant to support a short stay only, though they provided everything from food and water rations to sanitation kits.

This collection houses memorabilia items from South Georgia State Normal College, Georgia State Womans College, the early days of Valdosta State College, and Valdosta State University It contains sheet music from SGSNC and GSWC as well as awards given to GSWC. It also has items labeled Valdosta State College such as pencils, stickers, buttons, and postcards.Contains VSU decorative ribbon from 2021.
College of Education
Despite the name most of this collection relates to the Department of Psychology, Counseling,and Guidance from 1980s-1990s. Most of the boxes are made up of binders from Psychology Workshops (1988-1998), materials relating to Fast Forward/Forword Training (1998), School of Education Policies and Procedures (1988-1989), Self-Study (1989-1991), and Psych Course Lists and Curriculum.
College of Education Publications
Contains Volume 1, Issue 1 of Valdosta State University's Upward Bound Program Newsletter. Upward Bound is a pre-college program hosted by VSU and funded by the US Department of Education. It is designed to motivate and provide academic skills for eligible students from Valdosta High School 9th through 12th grade who are interested in pursuing post-secondary education.
