Eugene Beck Collection

Scope and Contents This is a collection of letters and certificates  pretaining to the career of Eugene H. Beck.  He served as a trustee for 6 years for the South Georgia State Normal College, as well as served as a faculty member at North Georgia College.  He also served as a teacher in schools across the state and was County Superintendent of Schools in Lowndes County from 1924-1938. F. Ruth Carpenter

Scope and Contents Frances Ruth Carpenter was the first art teacher at South Georgia State Normal College, and she taught at the school until her retirement in 1949. She represented the start of what would later develop into the Fine Arts Department. These are three paintings done by her.
