Started circa 1928, GSWC's chapter was part of an Internationa Relations Club affiliated with the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, and part of the collection is correspondence from that organization. This collection contains files on Valdosta State College's early International Students. Most of the files concern individual students, and are dated sometime during the 1970s-1980s. The papers mostly are made up of applications and correspondence about matters such as eligibility and immigration. There are some files on general regulations and procedures for International Students, as well as helpful handbooks for the students.

Irene Dodd Collection

Jane Elza Papers

Jane Elza was a member of the Political Science Department who was involved in the founding of the Women's and Gender Studies department  at Valdosta State. Her papers involve the AAUP at Valdosta State for the 90s, as well as the founding of the Women's and Gender Studies Department. She was also very involved in the founding and early years of the Faculty Senate, and papers documenting the Faculty Senate are found here.

Janice Lowe Collection

Janice Lowe was a VSU alumni and professor. She taught in the math department for 38 years. An advisor for Alpha Sigma Alpha, oustanding alumni, charter member of Pi Mu Epsilon Mathematics Honors Society and co-advisor.

She was known as the Blazer Lady, and had a passion for Blazer Athletics.

Jean Loggins Memorabilia

Abstract Dr. Jere (pronounced "Jerry") Madison Pound was the second president of Georgia State Womans College. Joan Bailey Papers

Joan Seever Bailey was the wife of Valdosta State's sixth president Hugh Bailey. She was an extremely active participant in Valdosta State Affairs and her collection reflects that. John Adam Treutlen

John Belcher Papers

John C. Huxford Papers

Scope and Contents

John C. Huxford (1931-2008) was a professor with the College of Fine Arts at Valdosta State University. He donated vintage sheet music booklets dating from 1882-1964. Also inculded are numerous discographies, his thesis and research, and correspondence. He was also a c omposer and we have numerous compositions, which are at present unprocessed.  Other of his compositions appear in the collection Campus Memorebelia in Archon.
