Huey Theus Collection

Huey Theus (1938-2013), an artist, was elected to the office of State President of the Georgia Jaycees and retired as marketing director of the Georgia Department of Labor with 35 years service. The collection contains prints of Theus's drawings. Most of these are black and white picture of architecture around Georgia. Many of them are county courthouses.

John Randall Walker(February 23, 1874 – July 21, 1942) was a U.S. political figure from the state of Georgia. In 1912, Walker was elected to the 63rd United States Congress as a Democratic member of the United States House of Representatives and served two additional terms in that seat until losing his bid for reelection in 1918. [He seems to have lived in Valdosta, Georgia, during some of the time he was in Congress]

Dr. John Belcher was an associate professor of sociology at the University of Georgia. Dr. Belcher contributed most of his time to gather information regarding the living conditions of various populations ranging from small villages in Puerto Rico to rural Georgia in the nineteenth century. Lieutenant Andrew McConnell Civil War Diary

The diary was written in pocket-sized editions and each was sent home after it was completed. The collection in the Valdosta State Archives has two folders, each containing an identical copy of the McConnell diary.
